Web
Graphiti began with a passion for design and a whole lot of faith!
Web
Graphiti's owner, LeAnne, was living in Houston, Texas with her
son and had been working at a large oil company for 15 years. During
the last couple years at the oil company, LeAnne worked in the IT
department as a web designer.
Houston
was quickly becoming a place she didn't want to raise her son. He
was about to go into middle school and she didn't like what she
saw in the school system and couldn't afford a private Christian
school. Not only that, the crime rate was going up and traffic was
becoming a nightmare. By the time LeAnne got home from work, she
was only able to spend about 2 hours in the evening with her son.
That wasn't good enough and she felt the need to make a change.
Then
one day as she was talking with a friend, LeAnne had a vision of
opening up a web design company and making enough money to be a
stay home mom. And even more scary, she would quit her job, sell
her house and move to Missouri where the majority of her family
lived.
LeAnne
prayed about this to make sure this vision was from God and not
just some hair-brained idea she conjured up on her own. And after
praying, she some how just knew that this was the right move.
So,
in May 2003, she put her house up for sale and two weeks later it
sold! She was amazed at how fast God worked! And then came the hard
part, quitting her secure, great paying, insurance providing, 3
weeks of vacation job! She took the giant leap of faith and quit
her job in July and then a week later, moved to Missouri and opened
up shop!
Friends
and family thought she had lost her mind and was a little worried
she was making a mistake. But she knew better!
The
first year was pretty tough. There were some pretty scary moments
financially. But LeAnne knew that God didn't uproot her and her son from Houston
to fail. She persevered because she knew this is what God had planned
for them.
Although
she's still not making the money she was while in Houston, and she
doesn't have 3 weeks paid vacation anymore, she's making enough
to be a stay home mom to her [now] teenage son, who is now in high school..
She doesn't charge a lot for her web designs because, well, she
doesn't want to. She knows that God gave her a gift and feels she
needs to use it to help others fulfill their dreams of success.
Her dream has been fulfilled to be able to have fun doing what she
loves to do, and to make just enough money to be a stay home mom.
She couldn't ask for anymore than that!
But,
God wasn't finished with her yet! Having a successful business wasn't
enough of a gift. He gave her and her son another blessing by bringing
a great man into their lives. They were married in April, 2005,
and are all living happily ever after!
LeAnne
can't imagine how much greater life can be! And is so glad she didn't
let the fear of the unknown stand in her way of the happiness God
had in store for her.
We
hope this story is an inspiration to others and to remind you that
all things are possible with God. And sometimes it has to begin
with a giant leap of faith!
Update: God has done it again! Just when LeAnne thought life couldn't be any better... she and her husband, Danny, are expecting a child in mid-May, 2008. :) And in answer to your question... YES! She will continue to build websites after the baby is born.
Jesus Replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20
