July 2

I apologize for not coming in here to update y'all on how we're all doing. It's been crazy in the Pfeiffer house. As some of you know, the sale of our house fell thru and so after 5 months of being away from our house and living with my parents, we decided to go back home and take our house off the market. This has been a very expensive lesson learned. Which is expenses we REALLY didn't need right now.

If you're selling your property... make sure you put into the contract that you will move out of the house AFTER closing and not a day before. If we had done this we would at least have been in our home and we wouldn't have sold our bed, stove and other needed furniture. Now we had to go out and purchase all this before we could move back in. Ugh.

At first I was really upset and couldn't figure out why God would allow this to happen. Then I started thinking about the whole Ben situation. How God actually saved me and Ben by not healing his heart. And then I realized that God is saying no to a new house right now because he is protecting us from something. And so I have to trust in His plan. We'll get a new house some day... but for now, we'll stay in our original house and wait on God's plan.

One great thing is, is that Benjamin has his own little room now. Although, he's not quite in it yet because there are boxes everywhere. But I can't wait to get it all fixed up for him. It's going to be super cute!!

And it has been great to have our dog, Daisy back home with us too. We have missed her so much. And she told us that she is very glad to be home too! ;)

So between working on websites, taking care of Benjamin and unpacking... mommy is EXHAUSTED! :) So there has been little time to come in and update. But when I do get the time, I'll have more pictures. Benjamin is such a cutie pie! And for the past couple of weeks has really started to interact with us. He likes to mimic what we do (like stick out our tongue) and we do the same to him. His little laugh is ADORABLE!! Wish I had a way to upload that on the site. But, our video camera died so... so much for that! :) We must get one again because these are precious moments I want to keep!

July 4 Benjamin's first Independence Day! We celebrated by smoking a brisket and it was DELICIOUS. Danny has finally perfected his smoking of the brisket. But you know what I did?? We planned on eating about 7pm, right? So I put the baked potatoes in the oven at 6pm. At about 7pm I checked them to see if they were done. NOT EVEN CLOSE! I had turned off the oven on accident. It’s a new oven and it's taking me a bit to learn how to use it! ha! And they were big ones so it actually took them 1.5 hours to cook. So we didn’t end up eating until about 9pm… when all the fireworks started going off. So we didn’t get to really enjoy the brisket to it’s fullest because we scarfed it down quickly instead of savoring every morsel. But it was still very yummy!! Next year Ben will get to taste daddy's brisket!

You should have seen Benjamin with the fireworks. He is such a cutie!! He was in awe of the big sparkly lights. At one point he was cooing and then let out a huge squeal with excitement! It was the cutest thing ever!!! But when the ones came on that had the high pitched squealy sounds, he would get really tense and kinda try to bury his head into my chest. Didn’t like those so much.. he takes after his mommy on that one! So all in all, I think Benjamin's first 4th was pretty good. :)

July 6 Ben went to his first ice cream social! Our church had a homemade ice cream making contest and fireworks that we went to. And sure enough, Danny got to be a judge again!
July 8

We took Ben to the doctor to get his first set of shots today. It was just horrible. I cried. They give him 3 shots! THREE! I don’t remember that with Steffan. I remember him getting "A" shot.. not "3" shots. He cried and cried and it probably didn’t help that I was crying too but… I just felt so horrible for him. Danny was there feeling the pain right along with him too.

We found out that Ben now weighs a whopping 12 lbs 10 oz. and is 23 ½” long. He’s like 75% in the growth chart thingy. And all of his motor skills are developing perfectly. :)

July 9 I had an OBGYN appointment and we took Ben with us so he could meet everybody. Of course they all thought he was adorable and wanted to know how he was doing now. Which he's doing perfect!! :) And then we took him by to see Dr. Frazer's office to let all of them meet him too. After all... it was their great eyes that found the heart defect and saved our lives! :)
July 11 Now that we're moved back into our house, we're able to get Ben's nursery set up for him FINALLY! And it is turning out to be adorable! When I'm done, I'll post some pictures. We have a mobil set up on his crib and he just LOVES it. It has all kinds of music and sounds and pretty little animals that spin around. He's very alert and loves to watch it! :)
July 16 Ben had a cardiologist appointment today and everything looked great! We had no doubts.. but it's always great to hear it! :) Ben's been kind of a fussy gus the past couple of days. I hope he's not getting sick. He's been kind of congested too. Poor little guy!!
July 17 Big huge news... Ben slept from 8pm until 6:15am!! Of course, I didn't really enjoy this much because I kept getting up and checking on him to make sure he was still breathing! ha! And he would some times make noises like he was about to get up so I would pop out of bed and get to his bed only to find him fast asleep again. Which was fine! I hope he does this again tonight! Danny & I could use the sleep!
July 19 Well, that was short lived! :) Ben didn't sleep thru the night.
July 24 Steffan went with the youth at Church to a camp in Colorado and won't be back until Aug. 2. This is going to be one lonely week!!
