March
March 1 This was a full day! Danny and I went to a baby extravaganza at one of the hospitals in Springfield today. We signed up for a bunch of prizes but.. won nothing! I'm sure I'll be getting all kinds of sales calls this week from that! :) One thing that made the event worth it was this rubber replica of what the baby looks like in the womb at 32 weeks. Which is just 2 weeks away! They let us take it out of the womb and hold it. That was so cool! It gave me a visual reference on what the baby really looks like in there.

Then this evening, Steffan had his 16th Birthday party. There were about 12 kids (teens) who attended. I think they all had a pretty good time. It's hard to believe that he's SIXTEEN!! ugh. They grow up sooo fast!

March 3 Heard from our realtor this morning who said he is trying to find out when the next scheduled closing date is on the house. I'll keep you all posted!

On pregnancy news... things are still going great. I feel good and all is well. He is kicking me constantly and rolling around and I just love it. I'm trying to savor every second. :)

Later that night... We are in need of some prayers for guidance and peace. I rec'd word from the realtor that our buyer is having credit issues!!! We were told he was pre-approved. Otherwise we never would have entered into this contract and moved, etc... the lender is working with him on these issues but we are not really feeling the love and not really wanting to wait this out with this buyer. Our realtor told the lender not to give us a date for the extension until they have a real clear date on when we would/could actually close. So we are without a contract, without a home, without our dog, paying $$ for storage and insurance, and no end date in site.

So we need some guidance on what to do. Talk about stress. I'm trying to remain calm. But I just want to cry and strangle somebody.

March 4 We had our doctor's appointment today and everything is good! :) She did say that I measured (my tummy) larger than the normal at 30 weeks. But she said she's not going to be concerned until later. But once again... the big baby talk has been brought up! (enter scared psycho laugh here!)
March 5 Today we're 30 weeks pregnant! Can you believe that we'll have a little one in our arms in just 10 weeks OR LESS!! I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm going to have this baby in April. The end of April or the very first of May. Why do I have this feeling. I dunno! ha! I just do. So we'll see!!

And... there's more house drama. The buyer wants us to sign an extension for us to close on March 31!! That's 6 weeks past our original closing date. We are perturbed. We told the realtor that we are not signing unless this guy puts down earnest money (which was not done in the beginning), and pays for the utilities. We also requested that he pay rent on the house from Feb. 14 thru closing.

March 6 Well, the buyer doesn't want to do any of the above mentioned that we requested of him. In fact, he's mad at the suggestion! He just wants to sign the extension. This guy is giving us nothing. Nothing to show that he wants the house or to give us warm fuzzy feelings. What a jerk-o-rama! We talked with another realtor today (the one that called us a couple weeks ago) and told her we want her to show the house to those people she mentioned earlier. She said their office actually has about 3 people they'd like to show it to. And we have no contract at all right now so... if they make an offer... we're going for it. This other realtor told us that if this contract hasn't gone thru within the 20 to 30 days, there is something wrong. She is amazed at what has gone on with this contract. So we're trying to protect ourselves now. We are a tad discouraged and yet, hopeful.
March 9 The other day I was thinking how great it is that I haven't had any type of accident since being pregnant. I was thinking how safe and careful I've been. When I was pregnant with Steffan... I stepped on a rusty nail and it went thru my shoe and foot (yes, OUCH!), I fell on my stomach in the parking lot at the Galleria Mall (totally embarrassing), and finally, I fell out of the bathtub when I was about 8 mos pregnant (what a pretty picture! ha!). I was super sore after that one!

Well... now I can say I've had at least one accident! ha! And it was really stupid on my part. The three of us (me, Danny & Steffan) were running down the stairs.. yes.. I know! and I got to the third step from the bottom and my feet just kinda slipped out from under me and I kinda slid down the rest of the way. I hit and hurt me bum... but that's all. Thank goodness. And yes.. I totally learned my lesson. If I'm going to run down the stairs, I will hold on to the railing. LOL! Just kidding... no more running for me, period! Danny and Steffan about had a heart attack. But once we knew I was ok... it was pretty funny! :) Yes, we ARE sick people. The baby was very active so I'm sure he's fine too. Probably had a fun ride actually! :)

March 10 I absolutely love feeling this baby move! Tonight I was in bed watching some Big Brother 9 feeds (I know, I'm stupid) and the baby was going WILD! It's such a freaky, yet cool sensation to see your stomach move in waves. I'm sure this is where they got the idea for the Alien movies! Because sometimes it feels like the baby is just going to jump out at any second!
March 11 Finally some good news! The buyer has agreed to pay the utilities from Feb. 14 thru closing and even gave us a check for part of it. And he is going to give an earnest $$ check on Friday. Our realtor said the buyer is getting very frustrated at how long the process is taking too. HE SHOULD BE, EH??!! Anyway... it's looking up at least. I think??? :)
March 12 I'm officially 31 weeks pregnant now. And I got to see the shower invitations today that were sent out. They are adorable!! :) I think I'm starting to get those hot flashes. If you know me, I'm cold all the time. But the last few days, I've been hot. Danny says that's why he married me. :) Awe!
March 13 Well, it's started. The swelling of the feet and the hot flashes. I went to Steffan's basketball banquet tonight. It was nice, but really long. We sat for 3 hours (with no breaks) and my feet started to swell up. Me no likie! But, it's about that time for them to start doing that. I remember when I was PG with Steffan and looking down at my feet and thought, "Those are NOT my feet!" So, I guess that will be coming up soon! ha!
March 15 We (me, Danny & Steffan) went to see the movie, "Semi Pro" with Will Farrell. I just love that guy! The movie was pretty good. My fave of his is still "Old School" & "Anchorman". Just thinking about those 2 movies makes me laugh. Not sure I want to sit thru movies until the baby is born. I was a tad uncomfortable. I can't cross my legs and so I don't know what to do with my legs. ha!
March 16 The baby was extremely active tonight at bed time and Danny got a little freaked out at just how active he was and how my stomach was protruding and shaking from all the movement. Danny said, "This is making me very nervous!" I asked why and he said, "Because I think he's going to hurt himself or hurt you!" I assured him that the baby is fine... my ribs and other innards however are fair game! ha! But assured him that women are built for this type of abuse from their babies and we'll both be fine. I thought that was so cute! Then he put his face to my stomach and told the baby and told him that he needed to settle down and go night-night. But, just like most kids, he didn't listen too well! :)
March 17 HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!! Danny says the baby is 100% German... but we all know that I was a Murphy which is pretty Irish! ha! He says it doesn't count because now my last name is German and so that's what I am. I have to disagree. Once Irish... always Irish!! And the baby will be 50% Irish! (and just between us... that will be the best part of him!) ha! ha!
March 18 We had a doctor's appointment today. Everything looks & sounds good. I've only gained 19 lbs! YEAH! Blood pressure is low as usual. :) She said (again) that I am measuring large for my due date. But she has no idea how big the baby will be. We scheduled an ultrasound for March 25 (Tuesday!). Can't wait to see the baby!! :) And then, we go in every week after that to get hooked up on a monitor for 20 or so minutes. Since I'm "advanced age", they do that to make sure everything is going and growing good. If you're interested, click here and here to see exactly what they will be monitoring us for.
March 19 I'm 32 weeks pregnant!! Only about 58 days til the due date! Can you even believe it?!?!?!?!
March 22 Today was my family baby shower. It was really nice and we received some really great things! My grandma made the baby an adorable quilt (picture coming) and my friend, Celeste, made me some of her famous burp clothes. They are so cute!!! Other items I received can be found here. Danny's mom and sisters were all talking about how they thought Danny was going to do in the delivery room. They all think that he is going to pass out or loose it as soon as he sees that I'm hurting. Which, is kinda sweet. :) But I really hope he doesn't pass out! Maybe he should be sitting the whole time... yeah... I think that's a good idea!
March 23 EASTER! Danny, Steffan and I went to his parents house in Marshfield to celebrate Easter. As usual we had a great time out there. Danny smoked a ham yesterday and we brought that up to the house. It was YUMMMMY! We played cards and ate a lot of candy. His mom brought out a bunch more presents for us too! she gave us some super cute baby clothes, a baby ornament and a little pacifier necklace for me with a little blue crystal as the suckie thingy. It's super cute! And she also showed me a blanket that she's making the baby. She's actually cross-stitching it! It's adorable and it has animals on it too. It's pretty cool that she and grama had no idea that our baby's room theme was animals and they both are making animal blankets for the baby! Too groovy!! And to top the day off, Danny's sister Debbie painted my belly like an Easter Egg. :) You can view the photos here.
March 24

STOMACH FLU RUNS RAMPANT! Oh my gosh. This was a horrible day. I woke up with horrible and weird upper stomach pains and it scared us, so Danny took off work and we went to the doctor to get me checked out. My appointment wasn't until 1pm so as the day went on, I was feeling more and more sick. And sure enough, the doctor said the baby was fine, but I wasn't. I had a bug. So we leave very thankful, but very sick. We pulled out of the parking lot, got onto the street and BOOM it hit me like a freight train. I had to toss my cookies and couldn't stop it. Thanks so my great intuition, I just happened to have brought a little trash can just incase this was going to happen. Unfortunately, "it" happened just as we were going thru a busy intersection. Boy... what those people must have thought seeing me with my head burried in the trash can, while Danny was driving and trying to pull back my hair!! ha! ha! Thinking about it NOW makes me laugh. At that moment.. I just wanted to die.. and thought I was on the verge! ha! Unknown to me, Danny was having a hard time not tossing his cookies seeing and hearing me! ha! Poor baby!

Then that night, my nephew Justin got sick, then Paul, then Danny. 2 days later it hit my mom. Thankfully, and surprisingly, Steffan was safe from this bug. The rest of the house wasn't so lucky! I'm very glad that's over!

March 26 Today I'm 33 weeks pregnant! We had our first monitoring appointment today and ultrasound. Evidently, the baby wasn't moving around as much as they wanted him to (due to sleepiness or laziness- nothing was wrong!!) so they were shaking my stomach and poking me and doing sound wave things to make him wake up. This was not a good thing to do to a person just getting over the stomach flu!!! ugh. I didn't feel so hot when I left there... but the intersections were safe from me that day! ha! Anyway, we had the ultrasound and they checked his heart and practice breathing, lungs and amnio fluid and everything looked great. EXCEPT... at 33 weeks, he is weighing 5 lbs 13oz!!! He is measuring like he is 35 weeks instead of 33. Now, they said the baby gains about a 1/2 lb a week. I have 7 more weeks to go! Which means... Baby Pfeiffer is going to be about 9 or 10 lbs!!! Yes, I'm trying very hard not to FREAK OUT, and just be thankful that he is healthy and developing SO WELL! ha! Can't wait to hear what the doctor says about all this next week!
March 31 This was a very emotional day. We were supposed to close on our house today and didn't. Instead, we put our house on the market. :( The guy is still going to try and get his loan approved for our house, but in order to cover ourselves, since we don't think his loan is going to ever go thru, we decided to look for another buyer out there in the market. One with a more stable credit history. This guy has had problems getting documents to the lender and also taking care of some credit issues. He's taken care of 3 out of 4 of them. But the one that he hasn't taken care of is the one that has to do with his x-wife and doesn't want to pay it. Well.. if you want the house... you have to pay it! ugh. And are you ready for this? We found out today that he actually said to our realtor, (during the last extension signing), "Why did they ever even move out of the house?" I think if I see this guy I might want to strangle him. Why did we move out? Um... because the closing was supposed to be Feb. 14 and we were supposed to be out of the house by then and were living up to our end of the contract. But rest assured... we have learned our lesson. If we ever sell another house, we will state in the contract that we will be out of the house the weekend AFTER closing. Instead of being out beforehand. Just chalk it up to another one of those life lessons, eh?
