| Sept. 9 | THE BIG DAY! I took a home pregnancy test and was shocked to see a positive result! Then, I didn't know if I wanted to wake Danny up to tell him, or wait until I went to the doctor to be 100% sure I was pregnant. I decided to wait. Then, after church we were all alone and I couldn't keep it in any longer. So I gave him a Father's Day card (that I purchased about 1.5 years ago!) and told him that he had been such a great dad to Steffan, and couldn't wait to see how he will be with his own biological child. And I signed it as "Your Pregnant Wife". At first he didn't understand what was going on (could have been the video camera I had in his face). But when he finally got it, he broke down and cried. We both did! We decided to wait to tell Steffan until after we get the official test done at the doctor's office. |
| Sept.10 | We went to the doctor first thing this morning and it's now official, WE'RE PREGNANT! And we're due on May 15, 2008. So that makes me almost 5 weeks pregnant. Wow! One minute you're not pregnant, and the next thing you know you're already 5 weeks along! ha! |
| Sept. 11 | This week I am making a fun video that we are going to use to tell everyone we're pregnant. I hope it turns out ok! We won't be able to tell Steffan until Saturday because with Danny's hours, he won't see Steffan until then. And we want to tell him together. |
| Sept. 12 | Steffan keeps asking me if I'm pregnant.Why? He said everyone around him is pregnant and he saw my prenatal vitamins. |
| Sept. 13 | I finished the video. I think it's pretty cute. It's called Danny's Big Adventure. It starts with him falling down the stairs during the ice storm. Sounds bad... but it's really hilarious! Then we have tons of photos of him sticking his finger in statue's noses. If it has a face with a nose, Danny has to have his finger in it. Then the video ends with me telling him I'm pregnant and then a sign that comes up announcing we're pregnant with the due date. |
| Sept. 14 | Steffan told me that 2 of his teachers are pregnant and said that if I wanted to get pregnant he is ok with that! What an answer to prayer that was to hear!! |
| Sept. 15 | THE BIG NEWS! Today is the day that we told all our family we're pregnant. First (of course) was Steffan. He was really happy and seems genuinely excited about the idea of having a baby brother/sister. We started off on our travels at about 10am. First stop was Marshfield to tell Danny's Parents, his sister Debbie and her hubby Peter. Then we told his other sister Sharianne. They were all thrilled! Then off to Rogersville to tell his brother Glenn and his wife Bonnie. Again, thrilled! Then off to Branson to tell my cousins Valerie and Austin. Val cried before the video was finished because she saw Danny crying and couldn't figure out what was happening! When she found out why he was crying.. she was so excited! Then back to Mt. Vernon to tell mom, Paul & Justin. They were shocked. They just kept saying, "Your joking." Thinking it was all a part of the video. But once they realized it was real, they were happy for us! Then off to tell Grama, she was so excited for us! Then off to Aurora to tell my 2 aunts Gloria and Vickie. By the time we got home it was close to 10pm and I was exhausted! I had forgotten about the first trimester... I'm tired all the time! I can't seem to stay awake anymore past 7:30 or 8:00pm! ha! The video was a huge success. We plan on sending a copy to my dad and asking him to call us when he's ready to watch it so we can get his reaction too! And did I mention that we were video taping everyone's reactions? Now we'll have a great big huge video to show the baby one day! |
| 9-26 | Had my first doctor's exam and everything is good so far! :) I go in for an ultrasound on Tuesday. I can't wait! I've also started feeling a tad nautious. I hate this part! ha! |
